Kade Chan was born 1993 in Hong Kong, China. He is currently a secondary high school student studying economics, accounts and geography.
Kade began folding paper six-years ago joining the Hong Kong Origami Society; he began designing his own origami models in 2008.
Kade Chan has been a origami tutor of many large-scale functions and television shows in Hong Kong. Last year, he won first place “category 3 – Minimalist and Abstract Origami” in the Great Jousting of Ancient Egypt dedicated to David Lister Origami contest.
Kade Chan wants to promote origami art in his country and build origami bridges between mainland China and Hong Kong.

Eric Joisel Scholarship
In honour of our dear friend Eric Joisel, we are happy to announce that a scholarship will be given in Eric’s name every convention to pay the travel costs for an emerging young origami artist to attend Origami Canada. The first recipient is Kade Chan, a 17-year old high school student from Hong Kong whose work is nothing short of brilliant and for whom the master sensei would have been very proud to support.
